Michael Salamunovich, born July 16, 1922 in Los Angeles, California, USA died October 23, 2010 (age 88), was a motion picture director and producer. He was a Unit Production Manager (UPM) for ER for the first and second seasons. He returned as a co-producer and UPM from the fifth season until the eighth season. He also worked on the series Dr. Vegas, Homefront, Felony Squad and The Amazing Howard Hughes.
Biography[]
He was born in 1922 in Los Angeles, CA the son of Joseph and Pauline Salamunovich. He was the third of five siblings, John, George, Joseph Jr., and Paul Salamunovich.
He attended Redondo Beach Union High School where he played football for the Seahawks. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served during World War II in the Pacific as a signalman aboard the USS Sea Snipe.
After his discharge from the Navy, he married Patricia Barrett of Hollywood on August 7, 1948 and the couple made their home in West Los Angeles.
Mike enjoyed a remarkable career in film and television production as a member of the Directors Guild of America until his retirement at age 80.
