John Terry is an American actor best known for his roles in Lost and Las Vegas.
Early Life[]
Terry was born in Vero Beach, Florida, where he attended Vero Beach High School. He was also educated at the prestigious Loomis Chaffee prep school in Windsor, Connecticut.
Career[]
John Terry began a career building original custom log homes in North Carolina and played roles in local theater before moving to Alaska where he founded a river rafting company. At age 30 moved to New York City and became a full-time actor.
Terry's debut role was as the title character in the 1980 fantasy film Hawk the Slayer, followed by roles in films such as There Goes the Bride (1980) and the action sequel Wild Geese II (1985), as Barbara Carrera's brother. His career then took a major upswing as he was assigned the roles of Lieutenant Lockhart in Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket (1987) and Felix Leiter in the James Bond film The Living Daylights (1987).
John Terry appears in the first episodes of the ER TV series as a doctor from psych department and a love interest of Dr. Susan Lewis. He expresses hostility towards his patients and eventually disappeares after a nervous breakdown.
One of Terry's best known roles is probably Christian Shephard from TV series Lost. He plays an alcoholic father of the main character. Christian is mainly featured in flashbacks, though becomes involved in mysterious events that happen on the island, either possessed or appearing as a ghost.

Terry is married to Lena Sjoquist, with whom he has two children - John Christian Terry and Hanna Terry, a female football player.
