Dr. Jack Kayson is a hospital board member and the chief of cardiology at County General Hospital
History[]
Not much is known from Dr. Kayson besides him being a very competent but very demanding cardiologist. He is known to berate others. In season one he discharges a patient of Dr. Susan Lewis which results in the patient dying of a cardiac event. He attempts to put Dr. Lewis as the doctor at error, but the medical commitee is unfazed by this and instead finds him at fault. Later he suffers a heart attack and is treated by Dr. Lewis, to which one of his fellow cardiologists (Steinman) intervenes to perform a procedure. He refuses the treatment and Steinman attempts to bring him in for the procedure but Lewis refuses to give him for the procedure which results in an arguement. Lewis stands her ground and Dr. Kayson seems to hold her hand in remorse. He can also me seen later in the series consulting patients in the ER with heart problems and performing procedures in the cardiology suite. He is also known to clash with many of the ER doctors (like Pratt, Carter, and Gallant).
