Coco is a patient with schizophrenia on ER who appeared in the 5th season.

She was portrayed by Sheila Kelley.

History[]

In Masquerade, Coco is brought into County General ER in a frantic mood, claiming that she is 9 months pregnant and in labor. When Dr. Mark Greene examines her, he can't find any signs that she is pregnant. He orders Haldol and a psych consult.

Even though Coco is now calmer because of the Haldol, she still says that she is pregnant. Mark realizes that they didn't order a pregnancy test on her. Coco tells Mark and Carol that she stopped taking her medication for schizophrenia when she learned that she was pregnant. Mark tells her if she is pregnant, the Haldol could cause limb malformation to the baby. Mark runs a pregnancy test which turns out to be positive.

Coco returns to the ER in Point of Origin where it is revealed that she delivered a baby boy on the street. She is shown to be off her medication. As Carol tends to the baby, Coco accuses her of trying to steal him. When Kerry Weaver tries to take Coco back to the trauma room, she shoves Weaver on the ground and attempts to grab the baby away from Carol until she is taken out of the room by security.

When Coco is more stable, she apologizes for attacking Carol and explains that she went off her meds again during the pregnancy. She's afraid that her son will be taken away from her by Social Services.

In Rites of Spring, Coco returns to the ER with her son. It is revealed that she is now living in a halfway house and Social Services put Carol in charge of making sure that Coco is taking her medication and properly taking care of the baby. Carol later helps Coco give the baby a bath.
